Fiona had many interests as a scientist with expertise in sociology.  This led to a number of fruitful collaborations.  The one that sticks with me is our shared work on the deeper relationships that kids have ... and how they impact on the mmental health of young people.  Whether you call these "relationships" or "connections" (Fiona's term) or a healthy "spirituality" ... Fiona helped to discover just how important they are to the growing child through our international collaboration.  For a number of years, we shared ideas at meetings and over email and during her visit to Canada and Queen's University.  She was a treasured colleague and friend in our HBSC family. And her ideas made a difference ...
